
New Teacher Jump Start
Public Consulting Group’s Project Success Resource Center delivers targeted professional development designed specifically for new teachers who support students with disabilities. The New Teacher Jump Start will build foundational skills with new special education teachers that emphasize planning, collaboration and instructional best practices. Registration is for virtual sessions and will include relevant, engaging content designed specifically for new teachers.
New teachers will:
Identify the key components of maintaining high expectations for students with disabilities.
Describe the importance of increasing communication skills in students as a way of increasing independence and access to academics.
Unpack standards to increase access to academic content for students with disabilities.
Identify specific ways in which implementing elements of Universal Design for Learning can increase access to general education content and settings.
